personally, i think street dance federation is a great group for kids/adults to join. it can help kids get over stage-fright, and just in general to have fun and learn dances. before i joined i thought it was going to be not as good as it is, i absolutely love it there and i think that other kids will too. my experience there has been wonderful and (even ask my family) i am always excited to go back. i am gonna keep going to SDF for as long as i can, even if i dont like all the people there haha. thank you Rebekah and Charlotte or getting this group together and cant wait to see u guys again x ~Nikita :)

This guys are amazing, the nicest athmospher at class, and so much happiness around, they make really nice coreographies and also the SDF provides snacks and drinks to their dancers on breaks, there's so much passion from Char and Bekah on this dance school and you guys should defenetly come and join this group, in only 4 weeks SDF got into marlboroughs top talent show at the civic theatre and won "Peoples chioce award" with an amazing perfomance on stage, (for most of the dancers - for the very first time on a stage) Also SDF opened a massive Netbal game at stadium 2000 also within a month of training their dancers and it went absolutely amazing $30 per 10 week term it means that you'll be paying only around 2 dollars per class As a personal experience i joined this dance school Last year at the end of Term 1 and i've seen such a massive improvement in absolutely everyone from dancers to teachers, seriously this is worth trying as I was one of those who used to say "nah i can't dance is not for me ", trust me , this is for everyone

My daughter has been doing aerobics now for nearly 5 years. After trying dance and then gymnastics, neither really inspired her. She went on to try Aerobics which combines both. She was immediately hooked. The passion and drive my daughter now has with her aerobics is amazing. She just loves it. Not only has she found something she loves she has formed some amazing friendships. The coaches and director Amanda are fantastic with the girls. Highly recommend you encourage your daughter, or son, to give it a go!

Aerobics is an amazing sport that my girls love. Amanda is very dedicated to getting the best out of everyone. Her students gain fitness, strength, dance and gymnastics skills. Triple A has a skilled team of coaches and the academy is a fun and supportive environment that produces some great athletes!

Triple A provides a variety of experiences from competing in local and national competitions to preforming at local school galas, and other community events such as the Howick Santa parade. Triple A has a high standard of professional coaches which enables kids to gain confidence in many areas as well as focusing on strength, fitness, balance and movement to music as well as introducing the basics of gymnastics.

My daughter has been riding with Sarah at Diamond Lodge for about 6 months, and her confidence in herself and her riding are growing in leaps in bounds. It really is wonderful when your child has a really deep respect for her teacher and chosen sport. Credit to Sarah and her team, and Mars recons Sarah's are just the best!

My two girls have been at North Shore Dance Centre for 6 years and they love every minute of it. Both attend jazz and lyrical classes and they really look forward to the end of year dance concert/show that showcase their work for the year. We find that Angela and her team are really passionate and enthusiastic about their dancing and their teaching styles help our girls to grow more confident whilst having fun. Great dance studio with a very friendly atmosphere! Highly recommended!

I have two girls who had been at another dance studio for several years before deciding to change to North Shore Dance Studio. Wow, what a refreshing change. The girls get more personal attention and the teachers genuinely care about both their happiness and their dancing. We should have come here sooner !!

Absolutely love dancing here at north shore dance centre! ive spent 3-4 years doing adult jazz and ballet with our amazing teacher Angela! Her wealth of knowledge, experience and passion for dance is so evident in the way she teaches. We love that the kids get a range of experienced tutors and learn a variety of skills in the performing arts. All the tutors are great and I've even joined the adults class myself. Great way to gain confidence and learn relevant industry skills.

Sophia is an enthusiastic, friendly and positive guitar teacher. She has really helped to keep my children interested in their learning of guitar, as well as improving their skills. She does great work in the small group that they learn in, I recommend her and the variety of styles of music that they learn.

Chess Power provide a fantastic opportunity for school children to develop their chess skills and to take part in many exciting and well-run tournaments throughout the country. Head Coach Paul Macdonald builds a strong rapport with children of all ages, motivating and encouraging each one to do their best. Chess Power offer an extensive array of certificates, trophies, medals and prizes – no one goes home from a Chess Power event empty-handed, although the prestigious awards are reserved for those who truly merit them. Girls are given extra encouragement – although just as skilled as the boys, fewer tend to compete in chess – Chess Power are working hard to correct this by encouraging meritous performance. Paul Macdonald has a strong team working with him. Even when he is not personally present, other Chess Power staff bring the same calm discipline and inspiration to their tournaments. And often tournaments include practical coaching tips, and brain-stimulating puzzles, so the children leave as better players. For interschool tournaments the Chess Power method of taking the scores of the best four kids on the day is much easier and fairer then schools making up their own ranked teams - no allegations of abuse by mis-rankings of the team (deliberate or otherwise) - all players have an incentive to do their best and a silly mistake by your top player means another player can step up and take their place. The website at www.chesspower.co.nz contains detailed results on each tournament – very useful when trying to identify challenging opponents and weaknesses that need work. And helpful for ranking players when required for other school chess tournaments. Paul and his team at Chess Power have a passion for chess and for children to play chess. Joseph Teofilo from the Wairarapa, who has participated in past Chess Power National Finals and Chess Power Champions Trophy events including October this year, was awarded wairarapa Maori male Junior Sportsman of the Year and the Peoples Choice trophy for his achievements in chess both regionally and nationally. From Joseph's achievement at this regional awards evening, it has put a spotlight on chess and we're hoping this will encourage more of our young to take part! Jeanne taught my daughter singing for three years. She gave her outstanding encouragement and support. Jeanne always made sure she had songs that suited her voice, and was always willing to 'go the extra mile' when she was preparing for competitions or NCEA singing. I joined Jeanne around 5 years ago to scratch a mid life itch to rekindle an interest in singing. Starting from a position of very rough round the edges encouragement and some expert tuition from Jeanne has brought me improvement and confidence. I really enjoy participating in both choir groups and doing some solo work as well. I am having a blast with a great bunch of people and I now firmly believe singing is so good for health and for soul.
