Events for Kids in the Gisborne Region

If you love to sing and would like to be part of a high-quality, fun, upbeat, contemporary vocals weekly singing group, with the aim of doing some yearly performances around Gisborne please get in touch! You don't need to read music or be a great singer, just able to sing in tune. Our aim is to build a professional quality singing group we can be proud of that sounds AMAZING, singing a wide variety of contemporary music from genres like pop, rock, jazz, musical theater, Gospel, country, folk, R’nB and more, both with and without musical accompaniment. Musical parts, harmonies, arrangements and singing will be following a modern contemporary format and sound, with a lot of variation and different “moving parts”. There will also be opportunities for solo's, duets, as well as acoustic instruments. If you can sing in tune, can commit to coming along to weekly practices (Tuesdays 6-8pm - from February to November each year during school Terms), can learn song words off by heart and can commit to attending yearly performances, consider joining. As our choir grows and evolves there could be opportunities to enter competitions and join the New Zealand Choral Federation. You can join at any time of the year - you don't need to wait for the beginning of a Term. The choir is open to adults and children from age 12 and up (parental supervision is required for children at all practices and performances). With the guidance of a Professional Voice Teacher, you'll be improving your singing and musicianship skills, learning to harmonize and sing in a group, have performance opportunities, gain confidence, have fun and a lot more!
