I teach children and adults the violin, cello and viola. People appreciate my encouraging and patient way of teaching. I work well with all abilities meeting each student where they are at. My experience includes achieving grade 8 on the violin, eight years teaching and multiple teaching courses.

I am Suzuki trained and also teach traditional. I have access to instruments you can hire.

Learning an instrument develops many important qualities for success in life. Eg perseverance, focus, listening, courage and positive self esteem. The fine motor skills involved in playing also improve brain development. And of course enjoyment and a lifelong ability to play and share music.

The Suzuki method is based on learning by ear until the person is proficient in their playing then they also learn to read music. The Suzuki method can be started at any age and is especially suited to very young children. Parents are involved and can learn with their child free in the beginning. I run group lessons to add valuable motivation to the learners.

Traditional involves learning to read music early on and can include doing exams.
