Orewa Surf Life Saving Club volunteers patrols Orewa Beach from October to April & Wenderholm over the busy Christmas period.

Our Mission: To Protect Our Community In and Around The Water

Our season is 1 July - 30 June each year, with new season registrations opening on 1 July each year. You can register online via our club website.

Our Junior Surf program runs from Labour Weekend to Easter Weekend each season and is designed to promote surf skills, fitness, surf sense, water safety and fun in a safe and friendly environment for future athletes & lifeguards.

Junior Surf sessions are held on Sunday mornings with addition training mid week for those attending competitive events. We also compete in Surf Life Saving pool champs from July to October.

The benefits of participating in Junior Surf are huge, and even extend well beyond beach knowledge. It enhances kids mental and physical well-being, hones their social skills, and encourages them to make friends. It also positively impacts their families and communities, creating memorable experiences for both caregivers and their kids.

Were here to create a positive beach experience for all while building strong foundations of surf knowledge and skills. We provide a family friendly program at Orewa's safe and convenient beach for children aged 3-13.

Once reaching 14 years of age members can qualify as a lifeguard. Development includes first aid qualifications, IRB crew & driver along with other lifeguard personnel development.

Seniors (over 14 yrs) also have a strong Competitive Lifesaving division with numerous events throughout the year including pool events.

We offer our Junior Surf program on Sunday mornings with each age group training alongside each other on the beach with an emphasis on FUN and building confidence.

Refuel after Sunday’s session with our weekly sausage sizzle, stay for lunch or an ice cream at our Club Cafe, or just hang out and enjoy the beach for the afternoon.
