    Only an hour and a half from both Auckland and Hamilton, Nikau Cave & Cafe is the best place to see glowworms close to Auckland. The cave is in its natural state, with stunning formations and thousands of glowworms. The tour is suitable for children 7 years up. The bush walk is suitable for all ages, and can include a longer walk to a waterfall. The licensed cafe is a destination in its own right with a fresh seasonal menu, coffee roasted onsite, indoor and outdoor seating, a huge lawn and a children's ... Read more garden. The cafe is bordered by a stream which is perfect for summer time paddling and dam building. The guided cave tour takes one and half hours and includes a small crawling section.
